Representation & promo of artist: artist appears in the music video portraying both historical characters Marilyn Monroe & Jacqueline Kennedy  however doesn’t make effort to make look similar to them, relays on associations between different lifestyles and outfits/ makeup, ASAP rocky as JFK additionally shows this as he is black in contrast to JFK being white. Portrays retro appeal associated with the artist
Cultural & historical event representation: assassination of JFK and suspected affair between him and actress Marilyn Monroe, emphasizes both sides of his life with each women, the shooting and the birthday celebration in which Monroe sang to him
Intertextuality: heavy homage to the birthday of the celebration of JFK and Monroe singing happy birthday  to him, dialogue at end from the notes of Jackie K
Messages society:  controversy over the definite representation of the affair with the president and Marilyn Monroe, portrays JFK different life as negative

  1. Very good on intertextuality, Ellie, but a bit sparse elsewhere. There's not the media language needed for a detailed analysis, nor the mention of specific social groups that are being represented. Think more about who the audience would be and what the video would say about about the artist's views on representation.
