Amateur Music Video Director - David Fincher

David Fincher – Director Fincher is a famous American, film and music video director. Some of his most famous cinematic pieces include Fight Club, Zodiac, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and Gone Girl. His portfolio of work also contains the well known television series House of Cards. Fincher has directed some of music’s most iconic stars’ videos such as Madonna’s Vogue and Michael Jackson’s Who Is It?. His many works have earned him several awards such as the Academy and Golden Globe Awards. His is the co-founder of production company Propaganda Films, for both film and music videos. In his early life Fincher was employed at John Korty’s studio as a production head where he worked himself up to become a visual effects producer, working with celebrated directors such as George Lucas on films including Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Eventually he bought attention to himself as an individual with his tv advert for the US Cancer Society of LA producers where he was given countless opportunities. He began developing his interest for directing further on, where he earned the first sort of prime recognition from his music videos, overall totalling at 53, where he learned to work efficiently with a small budget and time period. One of his most successful was George Michael’s Freedom! 90. He also continually worked with icon Madonna with videos for some of her biggest hits including Vogue, Express Yourself, Oh Father & Bad Girl. However he is better known for his directional work, with Alien 3 being his hit debut in 1992, followed by Seven in 1995- the latter being more well received than the first. One of his most iconic pieces, Fight Club from 1999, has become a solid cult classic. It’s his directing for The Social Network that won Fincher the Golden Globe and BAFTA award. However his most commercially successful pieces is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in (2008) and Gone Girl (214) which both grossed over $300 million worldwide whilst also earning him 13 nominations for the Academy Awards and 11 for the BAFTAs.
